Welcome to
Bury Athletic Club

Based at the track on Market Street, Bury (opposite Bury College), Bury Athletic Club is a competitive nationally ranked athletics club with teams and individuals competing at the highest level.

We can provide you the opportunity to train and compete at whatever level you choose. We offer a fun running section for seniors, but we do stipulate that juniors commit to competing for the club.

You can be part of a friendly athletics club with all members enjoying taking part in a sport that provides the chance for everyone to find the event that suits them best.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our brilliant group of coaches, officials and helpers (all volunteers) who give so generously of their time to make athletics happen in Bury.

Congratulations to Alison Dale who yesterday became a Fully Licensed UK Athletics coach, thus strengthening the club’s coaching team. A message from Alison:

“Because of the continuing support and encouragement of Bury AC, as of the 17th March 2018 I am now a fully licenced UK Athletics coach, I am extremely grateful and proud to be a member of such an inclusive club.
“I’d like to particularly single out three people to thank in order of my progression: Helen Vaughan who initially encouraged me and has been such an emotionally supportive individual throughout; Ruth Worthington of whom I worked as her assistant, imparting invaluable knowledge and patience to me and having the belief in me to lead the U13’s; and John Conroy who has mentored my technical and academic athletics knowledge base. And none at Bury AC doubted me passing, thank-you all.”
Alison Dale, UKA Athletics coach & Timekeeping Official for Bury AC (and chief tent lugger).
