Bury AC Have Three Shortlisted Finalists for the England Athletics North West Volunteer of the Year Awards

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the club. We simply could not operate with our brilliant volunteer coaches, officials, committee members and helpers.

It is therefore fantastic news that three of our team of volunteers have been shortlisted for awards at the England Athletics North West presentation evening that will take place at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday 11th October. The much deserved volunteers are:

• Helen Vaughan – Coach of the Year
• Paula Gears – Club Volunteer of the Year
• Frankie Simpson – Newcomer to Volunteering

Club Chair Mark Granby said “We greatly value the support that every volunteer provides. However, Helen, Paula and Frankie have been brilliant this year and it is fantastic that all of them have been shortlisted for an award. To have three people shortlisted underlines the great culture at the club and people’s willingness to go the extra mile. I hope every member of the club will be rooting for them.”

We’ll provide an update from the presentation evening after it has taken place. However, in our eyes the three of them are already winners!
