Four Bury AC members competed in the Trafford AC Grand Prix meeting at the Longford Park stadium, with them all taking part in the 800m races.
Running in the Under 15 boys A race, Brandon Quinton produced a strong performance to take 6th place in a lifetime best of 2.08.64. The Under 15s B race had boys and girls competing and Bury’s Daisy Worthington had to settle for 11th place in a time of 2.21.70 – with her recurring ankle injury hampering her performance. In the F race young Erin Kenyon took 5th place in a time of 2.32.81 – frustratingly only half a second off her personal best.
Christie Cook was the sole senior representative from Bury taking 4th place in her race. Christie’s time of 2.20.40 is a season’s best performance and less than a second off her lifetime best.
There remains plenty of racing opportunities for these athletes to run even faster times.
