Bury AC hosted its first Mini League fixture of the season on Wednesday 15th April. Torrential rain delayed the start of the meeting, but then the weather improved and a total 124 young athletes from local clubs, including 33 from Bury, enjoyed the competition organised by Bury coach Helen Vaughan. The club was once again hugely grateful to the volunteer officials who made the event possible. The club achieved a good number of medal winning performances with gold medals going to Rahmese Knight (U10 girls 50m), Emily Urquhart (U14 girls 200m), Lexi Fawcett (U14 girls 800m) and Phoebe Thompson (U14 girls long jump).

Silver medals went to Faheem Gyagenda (U12 boys 75m and 150m), Phoebe Thompson (U14 girls 100m), Mae Taylor-Forbes (U10 girls 400m), Jedidiah Omafe (U10 boys 400m), Evelyn McDonald (U12 girls 600m), Max Worsley (U12 boys 600m) and Yasmin O’Shiel (U10 girls javelin).

Receiving bronze medals were Finley Alldred (U10 boys 400m), Erin Garvey (U14 girls 200m), Rahmese Knight (U10 girls long jump), Inaaya Khan 9U10 girls javelin) and Evelyn McDonald (U12 girls javelin).

Medals were presented by former Great Britain international sprint hurdler, Miguel Perera, who used to train at the Bury AC track.
