In a weekend that was very quiet for competitive fixtures several members of Bury AC took to local Parkruns on Saturday morning to test their fitness by battling the elements. At Heaton Park James Brown quite literally ran away from the field, crossing the line in 17.13 nearly a minute and half clear of the runner up. There was a one-two-three for Bury women with Sinead Taylor first finisher in 19.11; Sarah Flett second with 22.49 and Sarah Thomas third in 23.14. The other Bury AC competitors included Matt Finch (20.32), Giles Bennett (21.28) and Ella Straffon-Finch (24.02).
Matthew Collister set a new PB in the Peel event, taking third place with 17.40. At Bolton, Rob Butterworth placed fifth with 21.26, just nine seconds off his PB.
