Bury AC members were shocked and greatly saddened to hear of the sudden passing of club member Paul McQueeney-Horrocks. Paul was a real character and a committed club member who consistently scored vital points for the club in the throwing events in league competitions. Our thoughts are with Paul’s widow Diane at this incredibly sad time.
Paul’s funeral will take place on Friday 11th June at 12.00pm at Ramsbottom Cemetery, although the current restrictions will limit the number of people who are able to attend the event. The funeral cortege will move off from Paul and Diane’s home on Whitefield Road, Redvales at 11.30am. A representative from the club will be there to pay respects.
Very sadly Paul will never have the chance to use the throwing circles and cage that are currently being upgraded at the Market Street track. The club will however be dedicating the new throwing circles and cage to Paul and a plaque in his memory will be fixed within the cage area.
