The local Parkrun events saw some excellent performances from Bury athletes last weekend. At Heaton Park, Bryn Lawrence was first across the line in a new personal best of 15.43, his third time under the 16 minute barrier. Twelve year old Ethan Statham placed fifth in a new PB of 17.23 with Rob Fowler just behind him with 17.33. Former member Oliver Donnelly is getting back into form crossing the line in 17.38 and the club is eager to welcome him back. Matt Finch recorded 18.32 and Giles Bennett 19.47. Sarah Flett was first woman with 21.10 and Colin Smith was just outside his PB with 21.11. Ella Straffon-Finch clocked 24.02 and Lucy Dent, Lydia Worsley and Emma Stansfield ran around together in 24.50 prior to undertaking a hill session.
It was good to see a Bury AC member at the Clarence Parkrun, with Jack Griffiths running out as the clear winner in 19.42 in the muddy conditions. Anthony Hallahan placed sixth at Worsley Woods in a new PB of 19.28.
