The picture shows Mary Seddon of Ramsbottom Community Choir and Bury AC Coach Development Officer John Conroy (Mary’s brother) with the mobile hoist which was a donation arranged by the Choir during a fundraising activity which also raised £1071 which we are planning to use to help fund disabled car parking bays at the Market St. Athletics Track.
The disabled parking bays will be of great benefit not only to athletes, officials and helpers associated with Athletics events but also to charitable organisations such as Action for Children, Jigsaw, Wheels for All, Bury Blind & Partially Sighted who are all regular users of the Market Street Site.
The mobile hoist can be used within the changing rooms where there are disabled showers and WC. Also outside to assist wheelchair users to access the specially adapted wheels for all bicycles and our own racing wheelchairs.
This is a great example of one community group supporting another and Bury AC is delighted with the generous donation.
