Bury AC is a member of the Greater Manchester Athletics Association Sportshall League. Sportshall gives young athletes a taste of indoor competition over a variety of running, jumping and throwing events. Youngsters can represent the club over sprint and endurance events where bounce boards are used for athletes to turn at the end of each lap in the sportshall. There are standing long and vertical jump events as well as the speed bounce and shot competitions. There are also team relay and obstacle race events that contribute to the overall fun on the day.
There will be four league fixtures on:
Sunday 12th October; Sunday 16th November; Sunday 7th December and Sunday 25th January
All the events are held in the Sportcity complex in Beswick. There are competitions for athletes in the under 11, under 13 and under 15 age groups.
The competitors with the strongest performances over the league meetings will be selected to represent Greater Manchester in the Regional Finals later on in 2026.
Entries for the competition closes on 26th September and entries can be made via coaches Fiona Healy and Helen Vaughan who are also able to provide more information.
